Several pilgrims have died in a stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia, during the commemoration of Jamarat which is the “stoning” of the devil with pebbles.<br /><br />Over 3 million pilgrims observing this year’s hajj, who spent the night in the plain fields of Muzdalifa, began trooping to the Jamarat as early as 3am local time.<br /><br />Aid workers are currently conveying corpses and injured pilgrims to hospitals.

Chief (Mrs) Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, the matriarch of the Awolowo 
family and wife of late Obafemi Awolowo has died. She passed on in her 
sleep today September 19th at her Ikenne, Ogun state home at age 99, 
just two months before turning 100. She was born on November 25,
 1915.  May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

The man refused the additional service saying he was ‘offended’, and a 
row broke out with the masseuse when he demanded his money back.

When he called the police to complain about the offer, the masseuse returned his cash and he left the building.<br />
<br />
A police spokesman confirmed that they had  received a call from the Oxford Road area shortly before 2pm on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were not sent to investigate the report and no-one has been arrested.<br />
<br />
Officers tweeted about the incident: “Strange job yesterday. A male went
 for a massage and was offended when offered sex. He demanded money 
back. Didn’t want cops to go to his house though.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared Kennedy
 Izuagbe, a former director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc and 
managing director of Carlisle Properties and Investment Limited, wanted 
over a case of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of over N3.6 
billion. A statement from EFCC reads...<br />

"Kennedy Izuagbe, a former Director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc
 and Managing Director of Carlisle Properties and Investment Limited, 
has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes 
Commission. Izuagbe, 45, who is being investigated in a case of 
conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of over N3.6 billion, has 
gone into hiding and all efforts to reach him have proved abortive.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a> He is linked to the several shady deals and gross 
financial misconducts that took place in the bank, in which several 
millions of naira were granted as loan without due diligence. The 
suspect, who is believed to have fled the country, is a native of 
Iviukhua village, near Agenebode, Etsako East local government area of 
Edo State. The EFCC enjoins members of the public with information on 
the whereabouts of Izuagbe to contact any of its offices in Lagos, 
Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Gombe and Kano, or the nearest police

Six members of a suspected money laundering syndicate that specializes 
in swallowing dollars were today arrested at the Excel Oriental Hotel, 
along Airport Road in Lagos by officials of the National Drug Law 
Enforcement Agency for allegedly swallowing US$156,000 (about N32 
million) meant for export to Brazil.<br />
<br />
In a statement released today, NDLEA said illicit exportation of 
currency by ingestion is a new trend in by-passing anti-money laundering
 operatives.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>The anti-narcotic agency in its statement identified 
those arrested as Kingsley Nwokenta, a bureau de change operator also 
known as Buchito; Augustine Onwuasoanya, 54, and Christian Okoli, 35, 
both based in Brazil; Uzoma Ezenwa, 33, a hotel manager; Ikenna Ezenwa; 
and Emmanuel Nwokenta.<br />
<br />
Investigations by NDLEA showed that Kingsley Nwokenta the owner of Amazon Bureau de Change,  is the brain behind the syndicate.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
 “He allegedly supplied US$120,000 to be swallowed and illicitly 
exported to Brazil. Onwuasoanya Augustine swallowed 74 wraps of dollars 
amounting to US$111,000. Christian Okoli who resides in Brazil had 
US$45,000 which he wanted to swallow.”

The statement by the anti-narcotic agency says one of the suspects 
arrested, Emmanuel Nwokenta, the manager of the bureau de change, played
 a “supportive role” in the alleged act while Ikenna Ezenwa, 28, was 
hired to wrap the money.<br />

“He is believed to have acquired his skill from illicit drug wrapping. 
Ezenwa Uzoma, the hotel manager who has a strong link with members of 
the syndicate, wilfully obstructed the officers from discharging their 
duty. The agency will continue to rely on manpower training and 
intelligence-led drug control strategies to outwit criminal syndicates. 
We shall take reasonable measures to dislodge drug cartels and eradicate
 narcotics from our society. Any bureau de change operator that violates
 the law shall be punished accordingly.”the statement said

According to a NAN report, the proposed visit of President Buhari to 
Cross River State for the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction 
of a 260km superhighway has been cancelled.

A statement by Christian Ita, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ben 
Ayade of Cross River, on Thursday, confirmed the cancellation.<br />
<br />
It stated that the decision to postpone the ceremony was communicated to
 the governor in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the President,
 Abba Kyari.<br />

“The presidency attributed the shift to a letter written to the 
president by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, 
Nana Fatima Mede.

“She claimed that the proposed highway, if allowed to go on, would cut 
through the Cross River National Park.

“The letter claimed that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on 
the proposed road was yet to be carried out,” the statement said.

But Mr. Ita stated that the proposed road would not traverse the Cross 
River National Park, as the superhighway would be several kilometres 
away from the national park.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“Based on the input of the Cross River National Park, the road has since
 been re-routed with the alignment now several kilometers away from the 
park.

“As a governor who is passionate about the preservation of the state’s 
biodiversity with his establishment of the Green Police, he would not 
embark on a project that would undermine the environment,” Mr. Ita 
stated.</blockquote>
He said the EIA report on the road was being handled by environmental 
consultants, PGM (Nig) Limited recommended to the state by the Federal 
Ministry of Environment.

Mr. Ita said the governor would work closely with the presidency to 
clear areas of doubt, adding that a new date for the ceremony would be 
announced later.<br />

These 3,032 soldiers are among the 5,000 dismissed soldiers who were 
sentenced to death for disobeying a direct order by their commandant to 
fight Boko Haram insurgents.<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />

It's been reported that on Thursday, the soldiers had been sent to the 7
 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, following the completion of a
 two-week reorientation training programme organised for them at the 
Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora, Niger State.</div>

A military source said that the soldiers were moved to the headquarters 
of the 7 Division, Maiduguri, for deployment in the North East.</div>

The source said</div>

“The Army authorities have re-launched the 3032 soldiers who were granted pardon by the review panel into the mission area.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“The soldiers were moved to the 7 Division Headquarters where they are 
expected to be deployed in various locations in the conflict area.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“You know that they were moved to the Nigerian Army Training Centre, 
Kontagora, for a two week training programme for their readmission into 
the service.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“They completed the course and have been deployed in the North-East sometime last week to add more value to the operation.”</blockquote>

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said that the soldiers were now ready to fight the terrorists.</div>

“The committee has concluded its sitting last week and has made certain 
recommendations that led to the reinstatement of 3,032 soldiers into the
 Nigerian Army out of the 5,000 cases that were reviewed.</blockquote>

“The reinstated soldiers have shown total readiness to be re-launched 
into the theatre to combat insurgency and have now commenced a 
retraining exercise at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora, 
Niger State.</blockquote>

“This training is to reorient the affected soldiers and prepare them for
 this closing stage of the operational aspect of the counter insurgency 
operations with more weapons and new leadership.”</blockquote>

Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Msgr. Gabriel Osu, said it was a great 
decision for the soildiers to be recalled and that now that are properly
 equipped they are more willing to fight.</div>

Msgr Osu said,</div>

“We thank God. At least, they have allowed reason to go beyond military 
style because these guys would have just faced firing squad for nothing.</blockquote>

“If you don’t equip your soldiers, you don’t train them well, you don’t 
pay them well, don’t expect anything different from whatever has 
happened.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“This is a very big morale booster; the morale booster is there for them to carry out the presidential task.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“You will see that with backing and with the arms, the soldiers will 
fight well and they will do their best to crush the insurgents.”</blockquote>

the news about the Jos building collapse and midway through the coverage

without prompting her. She was shocked to see herself live as she'd been
