Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state was accredited at around 10:30 am early today at Unit 20 Ward 7 along Ago Itunu street in Ondo town.


Mimiko and his wife Olufunke who joined the queue of voters immediate he arrived the polling were accredited in less than two minutes, but while fielding questions from reporters said that the card reader slowed the process of accreditation.

“What I can say about my accreditation was that it was slow as widely reported that it would be fast. However, the reports I was received from other parts
of the state from our field agents pointed to the fact that the card reader has not been effective.

“I called the Resident Electoral Officer, REC, in Ondo State, Mr. Segun Agbaje who promised that he would ensure that all eligible voters exercise their voting rights,” said Mimiko.

The governor’s wife, Olufunke described the turn out of women at the polling station has impressive, saying that she has always knew the women to come out to vote.

The accreditation process in Ondo town and other parts of the state was ongoing as at the time of filling this report.
