The new Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Wednesday appointed Dr. Eme Okoro as the Secretary to the State Government.
He had on Tuesday, dissolved the State Executive Council members who served under ex-Governor Theodore Orji, and directed them to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries latest before close of work by Wednesday.
Ikpeazu also appointed Hon. Chijioke Nwakodo as his Chief of Staff, while Mr. John Nwangborogwu was appointed the Deputy Chief of Staff, office of the Deputy Governor.
Other appointees were Mr. Godwin Adindu, Chief Press Secretary; Valentine Okpechi, Director of Protocol; and immediate Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Emma Nwabuko, who was appointed Special Adviser on Project Monitoring & Implementation.
Former Special Adviser to Governor Orji on Electronic Media, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, was appointed Special Assistant on Media, while former Deputy Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Chinedum Elechi, was appointed Adviser on Legislative Matters.
Other appointees were: Chief Solomon Ogunji, Special Adviser on Aba Urban Renewal; Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, Special Adviser on Special Duties; and Capt. Awa U. Agwu, Special Adviser on Security.
Ojo Maduekwe of ThisDay Newspapers was also appointed Special Adviser on Media.
