2014 was definitely the year that brought a lot of budding
stars into the limelight as they seemingly kickstarted their careers.
Some of these actors were in movies while others were on television to
display the talents inherent in them. 2015 is expected to be the year
that these actors cement their status as class acts in Hollywood. Chris
Pratt is one of the actors that made a transition from comic reliefs in
the television show went from the Parks & Recreation to action star
in Guardians of the Galaxy. So also is Benedict Cumberbatch who was able
to lead role in the Imitation game even as he showed us the action side
of him which has helped to put him on the list of Actors in high
demand.
Moreso, Shailene Woodley was able to capture our hearts as she gave eclectic performances in “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Divergent” which made her one of the stars of 2014. It is however time to look forward to in 2015. We will be analysing the roles they will be starring in upcoming movies either as lead characters or assisting. One thing is however certain, 2015 will definitely be a big movie year.
Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke is probably best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the Game Of Thrones television show but it appears she will be taking of the blonde wig of the character to step into movies. She has been billed to star as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genisys, a remake of the movie which is expected to be released in July.
Moreover, Game of Thrones is expected to continue with its fifth season which will start showing in April. This of course will allow us see more of Emilia but in the movies and on television. And perhaps, a positive reprisal of her role as Sarah Connor might give her a new and different franchise in science fiction from that of royalty she portrays as Khaleesi in Game of Thrones.
Haylee Atwell
Who remembers Haylee Atwell’s golden role in Captain America: The First Avenger released in 2011? She was the founding SHIELD agent, Peggy Carter in the movie. It seems Marvel Studio enjoyed her portrayal of Carter so much that they decided to have her back for more. This month, Hailey Atwell is expected to put on the SHIELD badge once again has she leads the cast for her own eight-episode miniseries on ABC as “Agent Carter”. Agent Carter is expected to follow the course of other existing Agents of SHIELD show. More so, Hailey Atwell is also billed to appear in Ant-Man and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” which will be released sometimes in the middle of the year. Apparently, an end of the series “Agent Carter” will not be the death of the character Peggy Carter as she is billed to appear on other jobs in the Marvel franchise.
Adam Driver
The climb to fame for Adam Driver started back in 2012 when he first appeared on “Girls” and he hasn’t looked back since. It however seems 2015 will be his year as he has been billed to appear in (a role not yet specified) “Star Wars:The Force” Awakens. The Star wars franchise seems to be the pedestal he needs to catapult himself to super-stardom and it is hoped that he will maximise the opportunity when the movie is released later on in the year.
He is also expected to continue in his role as Adam Sackler in the fourth season 4 of “Girls” which will be back on TV screens by mid January. He will also star in “Silence” directed by Martin Scorcese where he would play the role of a persecuted Jesuit priest. This will certainly help bolster his credentials and make him a breakout star for the year.
