Laverne Cox is an American actress,
television producer, reality television star, and LGBT advocate, best known for her portrayal of
Sophia Burset on the Netflix television series Orange Is The New Black, posed nude for the new issue of Allure magazine. Laveme, 30, a
transgender actress rocked the shoot but said she'd initially said no to
posing nude.
"I said no initially, thought about it, and said no again,' she told the publication. "But I'm a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent. Black women are not often told that we’re beautiful unless we align with certain standards. Trans women certainly are not told we’re beautiful."
